Lava stone tables: choosing guide

Shape, size, and number of seats

Start with the available space and the number of people who will use the table. Its shape, diameter, or length should leave room for the chairs and comfortable circulation around the top.

Decoration, edge, and finish

The decoration can echo the colors and style of the setting or become its focal point. Edge and finish complete the design and should be chosen together, taking light, furniture, and frequency of use into account.

Base and intended use

The base must support the weight and shape of the top correctly without limiting legroom. A home, garden, patio, or professional venue calls for different assessments of stability, footprint, and intensity of use.

Outdoor use and maintenance

The ceramized surface is also suitable for outdoor use and can normally be cleaned with water, a soft cloth, and neutral detergent. In exposed spaces, the stability of the base, standing water, and regular cleaning of the top should also be considered.

Customization, quote, and delivery

For an accurate proposal, specify the shape, size, decoration, base, intended use, and delivery location. The quote should then confirm the included components, production time, and agreed delivery arrangements.

Lava stone table prices and availability

The Artesole catalog offers hundreds of combinations of decorations, shapes, sizes, and bases. Prices depend on shape, size, base, chairs, decoration, and requested customizations; configurable product pages let you compare the available combinations.

Some decorations draw inspiration from Italian and Mediterranean ceramic traditions. Each table is still made by Artesole from Etna lava stone and can be customized in colors, borders, and sizes.

Before confirming, always check what the proposal includes: top only, complete table, any chairs, special work, and shipping. A dedicated quote is required for non-standard solutions.

How an Artesole table is made

Each top follows a sequence of processes combining stone preparation, glazing, decoration, and firing.

Preparing the lava stone

The Etna lava stone slab is cut and shaped according to the form and size defined in the project. The top is then prepared for the subsequent surface processes.

Ceramizing the surface

The surface is glazed to create the ceramic base for the next stages. Together with the subsequent firing, the glaze bonds with the stone and defines the properties of the ceramized top.

Decoration by hand

The design is transferred to the top and painted by hand. Colors, edge, and details can be adapted to the project while preserving the handcrafted character of each piece.

Firing, cooling, and final inspection

The glazed and decorated top is fired at high temperature and left to cool. Its surface, finish, and conformity with the project are then checked before the table is completed.

Frequently asked questions about lava stone tables

Concise answers about the main points to check before choosing.

The price depends on shape, size, base, chairs, decoration, and customization. Available configurations are shown on product pages; non-standard requests require a quote.

Yes, the ceramized surface is also suitable for gardens and patios. For outdoor use, choose a stable base suited to the table's weight, exposure, and position.

Yes. We can make tables in custom shapes and sizes, with catalog or custom decorations, including designs based on an image supplied by the customer, subject to a technical assessment. Each product has a configurator; for requests not available online, contact us at info@artesole.it.

The ceramized surface is durable, easy to clean, and requires no special treatments or care. Water and an ordinary detergent are sufficient for everyday cleaning.

Production time varies according to size, decoration, workmanship, and required components. The current estimate is stated in the quote.

If you would like a custom table with changes that are not available in the configurator, tell us the shape, size, decoration, base, intended setting, and delivery location. You can also attach a photo of the space; it will help us suggest the solution best suited to your needs.

We make tables with ceramized Etna lava stone tops, rather than tops made solely from ceramic. Lava stone provides the solid, durable base, while glazing and firing create the ceramized surface and fix the decoration. The result is a top suitable for everyday indoor and outdoor use.
